Certified Legal Intern Program
The following information is intended to help students, law schools, legal aid organizations, public defenders, state attorneys, and government agencies who are interested in the Certified Legal Intern (CLI) program.
The CLI program is governed by Chapter 11- Rules Governing the Law School Practice Program of the Rules Regulating The Florida Bar.
Law School Students
The request to be a CLI must be initiated from your law school. Your school will need a clearance letter from the Florida Board of Bar Examiners (FBBE). This clearance letter is not your certification for the CLI program. Your law school will have additional forms for you to complete as part of the process to be a certified CLI program.

Florida Law School Graduates
The request to be a CLI graduate must be initiated from your employer. To be eligible for the CLI program after graduation, you had to be a certified CLI as a student. Your employer will need a clearance letter from the Florida Board of Bar Examiners (FBBE). Your employer will have other paperwork for you to complete.
Public Defenders, State Attorneys, Legal Aids & Government Offices
