General Filing Information
Electronic Filings
The Court does not accept faxed or e-mailed filings. Parties represented by counsel are, however, required to submit all pleadings through the Florida Courts eFiling Portal (“Portal”). No paper submission is required or will be accepted if the document is successfully filed within the Portal. (AOSC13-7.)
NOTE: Recent changes in the Florida Rules of Judicial Administration REQUIRE all judicial branch electronic records to be accessible to person's with disabilities effective January 1, 2012.
Filing Fees
Paying Fees
Attorneys and filers using the court system’s statewide internet portal to electronically submit documents with the Florida Supreme Court and the Second District Court of Appeal now can pay filing fees through the portal when they submit their filings.
Fees that can be electronically paid are:
- $300 case filing fee
- $295 notice of joinder fee
- $295 cross notice filing fee
- $100 pro hac vice fee
- $150 half case filing fee
- $295 motion to intervene fee
After Hours Filings
Portal filings are accepted and dated for that submission date until 11:59:59 p.m.
Any required paper filings, including those of pro se litigants (representing yourself), must be delivered during normal working hours which are 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, Eastern Time. Filings delivered to the Court after 5:00 p.m. will not be accepted. If a filing cannot be delivered prior to 5:00 p.m. a motion for extension of time should be filed prior to 5:00 p.m. that day.
Briefs that do not conform to the requirements set forth in the Florida Rules of Appellate Procedure 9.045 and 9.210 will not be accepted. Florida Rules of Procedure are available on The Florida Bar website.
