SC2023-1392 Advisory Opinion to the Attorney General Re: Limiting Government Interference with Abortion

In this case, the Court reviews a proposed ballot initiative that would limit government interference with abortion before viability. The Court reviews the proposal’s validity based on constitutional and statutory requirements that the ballot language be on a single subject and its language be clear and unambiguous.

SC2022-1733 Citizens of the State of Florida, etc. v.  Andrew Giles Fay, etc., et al.

In this Public Service Commission appeal, the Court reviews how the state’s utility regulator reviews proposals to strengthen infrastructure against storm damage, what is required in those plans, and how the Commission determines cost recovery for the utilities.

SC2021-1469 The Florida Bar v. Miguel Fernando Mirabal

Begins at 10:30 a.m.

In this case, the Court reviews a 2021 Florida Bar disciplinary case against Mr. Mirabal. He challenges the findings and proposed discipline of the referee in the case stemming from a 2018 judicial election. The referee recommends disbarment from the practice of law.
